App keeps crashing when trying to open a purchased issue. Not good.
I bought a single issue of Downbeat. The app keeps crashing and i cant read my issue. I have tried force closing app and that doesnt work. This app hasnt been updated. It should be removed from app store.
Terrible update, I cannot even finish the new issue without a crash! I removed and re added. Still the same issue! I just received the new release, same issue. I cannot finish the December issue without it freezing and now cannot even restart the app!
Just updated and its still crashing when I open it with the latest iOS beta. Only app that is doing that,
This new version still crashes as it opens. Another problem in a long, long string of problems. Downbeat needs to find a more reliable technology partner--PixelMags isnt cutting it.
If you can avoid it do not update the app it crashes rendering the app completely useless
Something has happened to this app. It used to work fine and now its essentially useless. I just downloaded the December issue and its already frozen me out and deleted the purchase. Come on guys, get it together. Look to your major competitor to see how this is supposed to work.
Just brought December issue and app is crashing. Whats the problem? You got paid.
Dont both communicating with support. They dont care. The app has been broken for months despite updates.
Crashes again and again. Dont subscribe!!!
Dont waste your money. Dont waste your time. There are better jazz apps that provide much better service and user friendly experiences. Sad to see this legacy brand icon demise.
I sure wish I wouldve read the reviews before I paid money for this. Its a great magazine and an important magazine. But the app is absolutely useless and I cant even access what I paid for.
I purchased a subscription but have only been able to download one of the three issues that have been released. If you click on app support, you will see that many other people are having the same problem with no solution from developer.
I saw the full page add in the print Downbeat magazine and thought "Great! I can augment it with the iPad version." But no, seems I have to subscribe separately to the iPad version from the print version. Bummer. I will not subscribe _twice_ for the same content. (Im hoping I just missed something?)
How can the most renowned jazz magazine in the world create an iPad app and not include any multimedia? No music, no videos, no links. A terrific magazine -- still. But when Im reading a CD review or a profile on the Web or on an iPad app, I want to hear samples. This is simply a PDF of the print magazine. A good read, but it could be so much more.
I am a hard copy subscriber, but if I want to get a copy via the app, I have to pay. Other magazine apps give their hard copy subscribers free copies via the app. Honor my hard copy subscription, and I will change my rating!
But this e-version of Downbeat is something a 12-year old might develop, basically a straight PDF of the print edition. However, its not even as functional as most PDF files. For example, you cannot: 1) jump to an article from the contents page 2) click on web links in the text and open them in a browser 3) annotate, highlight, copy, share, or basically do anything with the text other than stare at it 4) search the text If you want to see a good digital edition of an originally print magazine, check out Wired. Too bad we cant get Downbeats content in something like that. Very shoddy implementation.
Have not been able to download issues since the July issue. Please let your customers now what is happening. Thank you.
My subscription stopped working and nothing is helping. No feedback on my request for help. Disappointing
The last issue I was able to view was July 2014. There are two issues since then that I have not been able to download. Not only have they raised the price per issue, which really isnt a big deal but, my previous subscription no longer exists!
